CANON PIXMA iP8750 Wireless A3 Inkjet Printer
I have had one of these for several years and think that it's really good. I use Canon OEM inks, with third party paper, and am very satisfied with the results. I rarely print as big as A3, but when I have I'm very pleased with the results. B&W gives really good results, provided you get the correct set up for the paper you are using - for me, that was a matter of trial and error, but I now have a set-up that works fine on the papers that I use.
It's much more reliable than my previous printer (not a Canon) which had to be used very regularly or the print heads would 'clog up', and then use loads of ink to clean them out. The Canon can sit for switched off several weeks at a time and so far it has worked perfectly when I fire it up.
It works fine with both Lightroom and Elements 12.
I don't use the printer wirelessly. but have it connected via USB - just a matter of preference. I also don't use it for anything other than photo printing - I have another printer for general use.
Hope this helps.

I've used "Stinky Ink" for some time along with the PPD Pearl paper which as you have said takes a bit of trial and error to get just right (well with my old eyes anyway). There is quite a bewildering array of setting for the pixma 6550 so have just set it to one (can't recall off hand) and it is nothing to print three copies, all different, then ask Liz which she thinks is the "Nicest". If I decide on a new printer I'll keep the other until my inks have run out. I've also used A3+ paper but just because it was special offer at the time 2 for 1 or something.
Got a few days of Black Friday to decide so may well be another Christmas present for me

Best I've seen Barrie is £189 at John Lewis and PC World £199. Can be had with a fullset of ink for £245.
Stinky Ink have a deal on for compatible ink at 1/2 price about £7.50 instead of £14 which is for the 6 inks. PC World do 5 Canon inks but the grey alone is £18 so about £79 for a set.
I need A3 for the club competitions, with the frame 50x40mm.
Good luck with getting a bargain.
