I'd been umming and ahhing about getting one of these for a while, lowest I'd previously seen them at was 389.00 at SRS.
Happened to find Camera Centre and mine arrived today. Ordered Thursday pm, delivered Monday pm, so pretty nippy delivery.
Lens arrived in a sealed box and appears to be proper UK stock, not a grey import.

I'm just mad that I missed out on the Amazon pre-order of 249 for this lens.

It's an excellent beast but I find you have to nail the focus point with some precision, otherwise it will choose something else nearby and leave you with a very slightly OOF image.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

I bought mine for 249 but had two replacements (no argument from Amazon) due to the lock position button failing.

I love this lens. See most of my recent photos on my gallery on this site.

FWIW, I got mine from Camera Centre UK (I did check SRS before I bought!) - @ 279 right at the end of the Xmas "deals".

It was bought mainly for travel (none yet since then) and I haven't used it much (at all) so far - from my quick "experiments" on the K-3 II, I can see that it locks on PDQ (and much faster than my original version 55-300), and so you have to be very accurate with where you point the lens, and possibly use Spot focus rather than the other options.
K-3 II, K-3 and K-30 (now running the Hacked K-50 f/w, so it thinks it is one of those ), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!) - and now a K-70 from SRS
