I'm just mad that I missed out on the Amazon pre-order of £249 for this lens.
All the gear with no idea

It's an excellent beast but I find you have to nail the focus point with some precision, otherwise it will choose something else nearby and leave you with a very slightly OOF image.

I bought mine for £249 but had two replacements (no argument from Amazon) due to the lock position button failing.
I love this lens. See most of my recent photos on my gallery on this site.

FWIW, I got mine from Camera Centre UK (I did check SRS before I bought!) - @ £279 right at the end of the Xmas "deals".
It was bought mainly for travel (none yet since then) and I haven't used it much (at all) so far - from my quick "experiments" on the K-3 II, I can see that it locks on PDQ (and much faster than my original version 55-300), and so you have to be very accurate with where you point the lens, and possibly use Spot focus rather than the other options.

K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Happened to find Camera Centre and mine arrived today. Ordered Thursday pm, delivered Monday pm, so pretty nippy delivery.
Lens arrived in a sealed box and appears to be proper UK stock, not a grey import.
