Buy a lens from Argos?

Argos are selling Pentax lenses. But after reading the Technical details, scroll down a bit, I don't think I'll be buying it.

Of all the 'technical' bullet points, it seems that the one that simply says 'standard lens' is one of only very few of their techincal specs that are in any way accurate.

And the price is a bit steep.

I think I will not be able to use this SAL (single aperture lens) as it requires a camera with the SCM mount.

I am very new to DSLR´s, I thought all Pentax lenses fitted to any camera?
I have a K-50 what type of mount does this have?

Hi Bruce, your camera has a K mount and all K mount lenses will work with it (older ones might not have autofocus and might require you to set aperture manually, but will work).

The lens in this thread has a K mount and will work with your camera, in fact it is a very good lens that can be found at a very good price (for instance from srs)

The point of this thread is that Argos is selling it at a very high price and they got the lens specs all wrong on their site......
