Hopefully Shim won't think that I'm trying to rub his nose in it if I tell you my GX20 was waiting to be picked up from the local post office when I got home today.

Would you ever do that

I'm just glad somebody got one, I was beginning to wish I hadn't bothered posting the deal.

It wasn't very securely wrapped (just the original box in a large silver special delivery envelope - no bubble wrap or anything ) but it did arrive safely. I won't get to try it out properly until this weekend but I have fired off a couple of shots to check it's alive .....

It's good to hear that the bodies did at least exist and someone from this group got one. So the offer was not a mistake. Did they give any indication of a third party supplier and had the box been previously opened?

I've not done anything further. I'm not very good at getting consumer matters sorted out. I bought a crappy Sigma 10-20mm off SRS last year, but I've just put it in the cupboard with all the other duff lenses

I'm really annoyed with Barclays, especially after I rang their crappy customer service in India to make sure that the payment would go through. They hadn't any stock at this point, but it's the fact that Barclays let me down and also that play.com didn't ring Barclays. I've changed my car for a new one twice in the last couple of years and the transactions just went through the normal "chip and pin" machines without any problems or holdups. Time to change banks I think.

They now have a K20D Body Only for £650 link This one shows quite clearly that it is from a third party...Purelygadgets ... Nice Price?

If it is a bad copy send it to Sigma to get it fixed that is why you have a guarantee with it. The Sigma 10-20mm is a very good lens I had one in my Nikon days.
It is no good just bunged in the cupboard.
And if you dont want it just send it to me, even better

I'm sure it's direct from play.com, it came with one of their letter headed receipts with their address and VAT number on. I think it's fairly obvious when you place an order with a 3rd party.

Well Im pleased at least somebody did get the camera it seems to me though they just simply missed priced the camera on there website. When I asked re my order they said the offer had run out and were only offering the camera as part of a package deal. Now we see the body can be purchased at £650 strange.

Thanks. It does state Purelygadgets on the K20D Body Only offer and they've only 90% for their feedback.... maybe they're trying to get their money back on that one

Sorry to hear about the problems here... I cancelled my order due to a change of mind but must admit I've also used Play several times & never had any issues.

My guess is that they were clearing some stock knowing a new model isn't too far away, perhaps they hadn't sold any GX20 bodies for a while, now they've cleared a few they're happy enough to put the price back up, perhaps hoping due to the response from the £299 offer that someone may decide to pay full price anyway ?

Hi Simon, they haven't put the prices up on the Samsung kits they were always that price. That's why we couldn't understand the price of their bodies.... they don't seem to be cheap on cameras generally. That K20D's ridiculous
