Lovely images. I think I prefer the first one by a whisker. K.

Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

thanks Kris, both taken using the fa31 with the first a 4 image stitched shot. They are the typical shot when photographing these mines but when you are there you just gotta

I also go with the first image as there's less "activity" around the rocks which in the second image draws the eye more so than the engine houses.
Moody scenes and well photographed.
Best regards

Very lovely colour tones here, especially the gentle blues and pinks in the sly. The long exposures bring a mysteriousness and dream like quality also. You've really conveyed a feeling of the isolation and history ..... It takes me back to the days of reading The Famous Five!

The images below show the engine houses at Crown Mines.
Sadly in 1863 the chain which pulled the mine gig suddenly broke, leaving eight men and a boy to plummet their deaths down the shaft.
If you ever find yourselves down in the south west with a camera its well worth a visit (warm days recommended) you may even see Ross Poldark
