Best walk-around WR lenses for rainy city

Perhaps I've been fortunate but I've used my K5 and K10 cameras with the DA* 16-50 and DA*50-135mm lenses in torrential rain on several occasions with no problems at all. It never once occurred to me not to zoom during rain. I'll be more cautious in future.

I've even used my non WR 17-70 in monsoon conditions with no problems.
It never occurred to me not to, and I'll do it again if I have to.
