Batteries for K3/K5 etc - just asking for pointers to some of the recent threads on these

Afternoon.

As above, as I want to see what was discussed a few weeks ago - but without starting a new Topic on this subject all over again!

Thanks in advance.

John

PS: did try searching the forum, but with little success in finding the recent threads!

I got a couple of the third party ones and now that they've had a bit of use, the difference in how long they last (compared to the Pentax one) is much greater. One of the two barely holds a charge despite having hardly been used. The other manages a day of shooting when on holiday. The original Pentax battery is much better.

Generally I can't tell the difference between cheapo no-name batteries and the originals but I bought a back up for my wife's Canon and it's useless, running out after just a few shots. My K10 and K5 batteries are much better: I never know which I'm using. My Canon Eos M, (notoriously power-hungry) has a similarly good cheap battery.

I'm amazed by how long the Pentax DSLRs batteries last. One clear DSLR advantage over mirrorless.
Best wishes,

Andrew

I've about 6 cheapo's and 3 Pentax Originals and some must be 4 or 5 years old and I cant tell the difference between the branded and non branded ones in terms of how long the last, their equally as good.
