What on earth did you buy a weather sealed lens for man?

No weather sealed body.
I'm sure Flossie is going to look for a K7 now

ok, "lens bargain" of the year then.
No, not going for a K7 just because its raining - waiting to see what the replacement (really) is.

I was pretty pleased with my Tamron 70-300 purple monster for £26
Although I wouldn't have said no to the 50-135 for your price either

When it comes to lenses, I think that I can claim to have got the bargain of the year, with ebay 'buy it now' item number 110554415727.
Given the circumstances, the seller has a very fitting user name!

No man is worth his salt, who has not been banned from at least one Forum, and two Flickr groups.

glad to hear I'm not the only one to have got lucky on the fleabay lottery!
(probably makes up for the times we pay too much for something we don't use...:mrgreen
Along those lines... I got an A1(!) printer for £100 as well recently - not for photos though! I haven't been shot for taking up the entire house with a printer that's over a meter long...yet...

It might make up for:
The Winder MX for £50 (saw one a week later for £30, but at the time I hadn't seen anything cheaper in decent shape for ages)
The black MES for £15 that turned out to have a non-cocking shutter
How do people find things like an F 50mm for £30? I search "Pentax-Buy It Now-Newly Listed" on a regular basis and I've never seen anything that good.

How about this Topcon 50mm f/1.7 K mount lens and camera for £16
I can't believe 204 people looked at and didn't bid. That was the last Topcon camera model ever made.
Topcon used to make some good solid cameras. They even made some for the US Navy and FBI as well as the Japanese military. There original (and still to this day) business was surveying instruments, cameras were just an offshoot. They are 2nd only to Leica in surveying instruments having taken over their major competitor Sokkia. link

(drum roll please)
under £250
I'd just like to thank Ebay for supplying the lens (had a broken mount) and Asashi Photographic for repairing it and fitting a new SDM motor.
SRS are sending me a new lens hood & cap (it had a case but no ends), and the grand total is still well under £300! Woo hoo!
Now all I need is for it to stop raining...!
(I'm going to have to have a clear-out of lenses I don't use now! ...which is anything longer than 100mm!)
