At last - a stunning morning in Snowdonia!!

After what seems like weeks of awful weather in North Wales yesterday looked promising so I set the alarm early and arrived at Llyn Llydaw beneath Snowdon for sunrise - my luck was in!!

The last one was taken at Llyn Dinas later in the afternoon

The first 3 are all taken with the K5 & DA12-24, mostly around 12mm

Four great shots, and love those reflections.

Sure was nice to see clear skies yesterday and was also out early for a walk in the cold, crisp air.

Nice to see Grib Goch in it's correct colour.

Lovely reflections. I bet the car park was empty as well!

Thanks for the comments everyone,

I've posted the shots out of sequence just for info - shot 2 with the warmer glow was the first one, taken immediately after sunrise. I then moved to a different spot and captured the 1st shot (around 40 minutes after sunrise) and moved again for the 3rd which was taken around 1hr 20 minutes after sunrise which explains the bluer sky and cooler colours of crib goch. I waited quite a bit at each spot to try and catch the reflections at their sharpest as the slight breeze fluctuated a little.

I was the first person on the Miners track so had the place to myself - not so when I arrived back at the Pen Y Pass car park at 11.00am though, absolutely crammed.

Llyn Dinas is a lovely area of Snowdonia that's much less frequently visited than many areas, not sure why as the scenery is equally impressive

Forgot to mention that I'm increasingly impressed by the K5. It's ability to pull detail from shadows is pretty incredible - I don't think I'll be using NDgrads again!! The amount of detail it resolves is stunning too, especially with the 12-24 attached, can't honestly see me upgrading for a long time as the K5 ticks all the boxes for me now
