As per part 1, a clear out of all my M42 gear to reflect the fact I can't justify keeping 2 35mm systems when I barely shoot enough to justify 1 system these days.

A few nice lenses therefore up for sale.

Please note:-

* All are free from fungus or anything else nasty on the glass
* All have clean and responsive blades
* All focus nicely

As before, hopefully everything is priced to sell. If you disagree, please let me know.

All prices include RMSD in the price. If you want something else, just let me know and I'm sure we can sort it.

1. Takumar 105mm f2.8 - £95

Operationally, as described above. Minimal dust.

Cosmetically, a solid 8/10, perhaps even a 9/10.

Comes with a genuine Takumar rear lens cap, and the metal style "Asahi Pentax" front cap.

If matching hard cases are your thing, I'll throw that in for an extra £10.

2. Takumar 50mm f1.4 7 element version - £85

Operationally, as described above. Virtually no dust to speak of.

It does appear to have a golden hue to glass. I'm told a sunny window sees to that, but I've never bothered as it's never done me any harm.

Cosmetically, 8/10, nothing really to note.

Comes with a genuine Takumar rear lens cap, and the metal style "Asahi Pentax" front cap.

3. Carl Ziess Flektogon 35mm f2.8 - £110

Operationally, as described above. Virtually no dust to speak of.

Cosmetically, 7/10, just a few minor marks to parts of the barrel, otherwise in really nice shape.

Will ship with a filter and generic rear lens cap.

..........

I will happily post photos on request, and/or answer any questions.

Thanks for looking.

Further update: someone else has registered interest but obviously I didnít know that as they hadnít commented here. Hopes suitably raised and then quickly dashed.

Apologies for the above all: my emotions had got the better of me.
Not like me, and I didnít enjoy being like that.

Good news

Tak 50mm 1.4 now back on the market

Bad news

Turns out it is quite probably the 7 element version!

I always understood A and M rather than Auto and Man meant it was 8 element, so I had stopped looking for other identifying features as that was the easiest to recognise. It seems though that information is duff!

I have edited the original post and reduced the price.

Nope, turns out I can't edit a post that old!

So for those still reading, lets say £85 for the 50mm f1.4 Takumar.

That's a good price for what is an exceptionally clean-looking Tak 50/1.4.
I'm a big fan of mine so whoever snags that will not be disappointed.

The golden colour of the rear element on the 1.4 Tak is easy to clear. A couple of days sitting on a sunny windowsil bathed in UV will do the job. The yellow will reappear if you don't use it for 6 months but it's no problem.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

We're in the UK. What sun?
Apparently there's an IKEA Led lamp that does the trick, too.

Personally, I think the yellowing gives B&W photos a little je ne sais quoi...

Ah - I note you live in that bit of the UK permanently blessed with downpours of rain? .... True story - I told a German visitor how it always rains in Wales because he was looking forward to our visit there. He clearly didn't believe me. We drove along, past the "Welcome to Wales" sign (at least, that's what I thought it said) and the skies darkened and it absolutely threw it down.

Back on thread - the 1.4/ 50mm Tak is a very nice lens. For the record, Red IR mark to the left of f4 = 7 element and to the right = 8 element.
