At Christmas i updated from a k-x to a k-5.
I always thought that i would carry both... however, i have not taken a single shot on the k-x and frankly i could do with the cash to buy more equipment.

Should i sell? or, do the more experienced photographers carry two SLR's with maybe a wide angle on one and long telephoto on the other?

Thanks, BN.

I think you may have answered your own question. If you're not using the K-x anymore then it might be worth selling it. You might ask yourself what kind of photos you typically take and make your decision accordingly.

However....yes, I carry two (the K-r and the *istDL) and often have the lens setup you described. I definitely use the K-r more, but it's nice to have that extra body with lens ready to go. In one sense, though....that luxury certainly negates the idea of interchangeable lenses on one body. But having versatility and redundancy for an active photographer can pay dividends.....esp. on a long photo trip somewhere.

Was out today with the 16-45 on my K5 and the Siggy 150-500 on my Kx. The Kx will only go if I get another K5

We always have a backup DSLR, but one backup between us is fine. It's highly unlikely that both our K-5s would fail at the same time.

I wouldn't normally carry 2 DSLRs on a shoot, the backup would be in the car if we were doing a job.

I always carry both K-5 and K-x, usually with a 16-45 on the K-5 and 55-300 on K-x, but when on a wildlife walk I will take a fixed 300mm and the 55-300. It is amazing how many shots you can get that you would otherwise miss and the K-x is still an amazing little DSLR, very close to the K-5 image quality in most circumstances.
