Coming from an angler and a former club bailiff....
Most anglers are appreciative of the heron. Theyre a good sign it is a healthy water, they also help to keep fish stocks healthy.
I used to come down hard on people abusing birds on the waters. It's their home and place to feed.
Otters and Cornorants are the big issues. To keep otters out, use otter fencing. As for Cornorants, it's our fault theyre coming in land....
If a manager at Morrisons said " there's no one in there, help yourself..."
We'd all be running in there like headless chickens!!!
Lovely images btw

Thanks Spad. I guess there will always be two sides to the ecological argument and, apart from grumbles from some of the anglers, all seems peaceful around the margins.

Next I spotted an angler with his son who was clearly more interested in his phone than the fishing.
Lastly, I came across three 'couples' of ducks sat on another 'peg', well worth a shot I thought. However, in the time between me starting to press the shutter button and it actually firing, the drake nearest the camera flew into the water - shot spoiled.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all as they say but it was an enjoyable walk.
