A problem for new people looking for this site

Afternoon.

I've just had to do a complete reinstall of Firefox and then re-establish my logins to many sites, including this one - and I had a problem in actually even finding this one!

I'm using the Duckduckgo search engine and, whereas it found others like the US forum and even several probably dead pentax-centric forums, it totally refused to find this site at all in multiple searches!

I then had to resort to using a link in an old email from Rick H to lead me back to the site!

Something for the guys looking after the site (maybe Rick?) to look into as it seems like this site is not on the radar of at least one of the major search engines.
K-3 II, K-3 and a K-70 from SRS (having now relegated the K-30 /"K-50" to a backup body), & some Sigma and Pentax lenses (and a lot of old 35mm gear!)

Yep, just tried Duckduckgo and it's as you say - invisible. It finds ePhotozine's pentax forum but not Pentaxuser.com. No problem with Google.

A search of google for "pentax forum" has this site in fourth place. On Yahoo it is nowhere to be seen, same as DDG

It costs money to be near the top.

Thanks for the heads up and taking the time to bring this to my attention. I’ll take a look into it and see if I can improve things. I’ve currently got a lot on with ePHOTOzine, but as you’ve pointed out, rank and results should be better than what you’ve pointed out for alternative search engines to Google.

I’ll tackle it as soon as I can.

Cheers,

Rick

I'm not sure why you are using duckduckgo as a search engine. Its supporters say that it doesn't track your search activity, which may be true, but unfortunately, IMHO, it's not a very good search engine in that it often doesn't find things for which you may be searching! It also seems very US centric, which may be OK in the USA, but is of less use here in the UK.
