Along with the 150-450mm I have started carrying the 50-135mm and a Raynox DCR-250, the idea being I then have 50-450mm and a semi macro lens should the need arise. Anyway, the other day I was at the local nature reserve and the sun was shining so I decided to have a play.

Must say I love the background you get with this combo, please click on photo to get a decent idea of the IQ though.

Very nice those Mike and makes a change from your usual flying fare!

Even prompted me to do a search on that Raynox to get some information about it. I like the idea of the expandable clip fit...very useful.

cheers

Pretty darned impressive, all of these. The lens and Raynox combination looks surprisingly excellent, although I think the skill of the photographer is the biggest factor here. Not a hint of shake on any of them, which makes a huge difference with macro shots.

Great stuff. Love the bumblybee.
It never occurs to me to put the Raynox on anything other than a macro lens! (or an iPhone, which works really well). But I'll give this a go

Raynox profits are about to soar!
I particularly like the scorpion fly
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Not really a fan of bug shots, Mike, but the detail in these is most impressive. As David says, owning the gear is one thing; making it work as well as you can, another.
Best wishes,

Andrew
