Very nice set of images of a nice part of the coast. Particularly like the light on 3 and 8.

I enjoyed all of these, if I had to pick a favourite it would be 4 as it sort of looks like a prehistoric snake climbing up out of the sand.

Anybody know what the Miles, Furlongs 'P' might be? The next word would normally be 'chains'.
Both the *istDS and the K5 are incurably addicted to old glass

Pole, 40 poles in a furlong and 8 furlongs to a mile. I clearly remember having to learn this at junior school in the 1950's. Never seen it on a mile post before. As you say in the railway industry we always used chains.

Absoloutely right Paul, also called a perch or a rod in some parts of the country i found when looking to see what the P was. Perch was only removed as a measurement in 1963 i also found.
