A bit of time with the 1.4x converter
Regards
David
PS: Fabulous shot of the Kingfisher, wish I knew where to go to get images like this!
Anyone used the 1.4TC with the Tamron 70-200 f2.8??
Not tried it but have both so can try for you
Thank you, very kind.
I have used a cheap Tak-A 2x converter (Which I got to turn into an auto extension tube) with the Tamron with not awful results, so I am interested in how this combo works, IQ probably more of interest than AF as I have been using MF for the above combo.
Can say aok IQ seems same dragonflies watch out
That is encouraging!
It might tempt me to get a DA*300 too in the fullness of time....

1.No change in focusing characteristics - you don't know it's there
2. No noticable change in sharpness
3. Possibly a slight drop in resolution, eg in feather detail but not sure about this yet as I haven't fine calibrated the combo yet
4. Very handy for butterflies and dragonflies - gives you same size image from slightly further away. In some instances not much different to cropping but at the limit of desirable cropping slight advantage.
This Kingfisher pic is with the DA*300 and is about a 65% crop.
