David, I do hope your wife is better now.
I've become a bit of a "country" member of the Forum recently due to the acquisition of some light-weight, cut-price micro 4/3 equipment (which I love using) but today I risked a hernia by dusting off my K5 and Tamron 17-50 for a trip to Dartmoor. The weather was perfect but I sorely missed the way one can use a quality EVF to assess exposure before pressing the shutter.
Off to Snowdonia next weekend and I've not used my beloved K10 for months...

Yes, thanks Andrew after a very worrying time she is now well on the road to recovery, so much so I was able to make my annual trip to Snowdonia at the end of May, an area I know you love as much as I do.
Quite a few photographers I know seem to be downsizing their gear so they can travel light. Mine seems to have got a lot heavier since I bought the new D FA*70-200mm zoom. But it seems worth it, its so sharp I have no worries when doing tight crops and blow ups. The quality is outstanding.
