Am going to get a Sandisk Ultra SDH card (16gb) anyone had experience of that please?
The Sandisk will be lighter than the Pentax and the Tamron, but nowhere near as sharp, and it's a fixed 16gb focal length, so not really a zoom...
Seriously though... which camera are you running, Louise? I have a 32GB Sandisk SDHC in my K-5 which gives me ~930 RAW shots capacity, and writes as fast as the K-5 can output.

Me too, only not the K-5 part...
Personally I only buy brand name cards, not for any high and mighty reasons, just simply that I've been burned with cheaper cards. Memory is not relatively cheap, and there are often sales on memory cards too.
I now look to by the fast transfer speed cards too, but that's mostly so I can use them in the likes of my GoPro camera which has high quality video modes that require sustained high speed transfer rates. Pentax unfortunately doesn't offer anything like that yet, so you can get away with slower ones there also.
I agree with the comment about buying brand name cards. I've had problems with cheap cards in the past, and nowadays use mostly (but not exclusively) sandisk.

I shoot RAW+JPEG on a K5ii and a K-S1, so the cards fill quickly and there's a need to keep an eye on spare capacity all the time.
Cards get cycled from 1 - x, and I back them up to numerous devices before re-formatting them.
I've only ever had one card fail, (a counterfeit Sandisk via Amazon Marketplace), but I feel more comfortable knowing that if I have a card issue I won't be losing too much, and hopefully will still be in a position to re-shoot right away.
The only exception to my 4gb card rule are a number of 32gb ones I use for video.

I went for a Sandisk 16gb in the end.
Just make sure you back up your photos immediately after every shoot and don't rely on the card for storage.
However, I don't wait to copy files over to my Laptop and 2nd backup . After each day's shoot (if it's a big one) or say a week of light use, I place the card in the internal card reader on my laptop. I use iMatch, a dedicated image organiser and cataloging programme. iMatch will read a single folder on the card and produce a view screen of thumbnails of each RAW file (the camera custom settings are not applied). From this I can take a closer look (there is a large thumbnail option) and select each good image .....once all selected then it's a simple copy command, and the chosen files are all copied to my laptop 'for editing' folder.
Anything not copied stays on the card until it's full, then after the final copy process and backups are made then the card is re-formatted in the camera. This minimises the number or formats, but at the same time I'm not risking losing all the shots.

Usually transfer to Cyberlink photo Director then onto Picasa. If I uninstall Playmemorie's will that effect my picture files etc I have on the hard drive?

I'm not too familiar with Playmemories, but I wouldn't think deleting it would affect the hard drive at all, as it's an on-line (cloud) based service that you access via a device like a phone, tablet or PC. Indexing, etc, would all be on-line.
If anything I'd say the problem is once the program/account is deleted anything stored on-line will be lost, as I don't know whether it's possible to download/restore photos from the on-line/cloud storage?
There's bound to be someone else on the Forum who's more of an expert when it comes to cloud based photo storage?
Another vote for the 55-300 here; performance is very good throughout the range. The DA version has a good deep hood supplied. If you don't mind a plastic mount, losing the quick-shift focus and the hood, then the DAL version would be a cheaper option.
---------------------------------------------------
I've had both - the Tamron was my first telephoto for wildlife. The 55-300 is sharper and less purple fringing for sure. As above - if you went for the DAL you lose little in reality as the plastic mount is very strong and a replica hood is a £2-3 and the price will only be about £100 second hand. The only advantage I would say with the Tamron is the 2:1 macro is excellent.
