Is the 50mm smc f 1.7 af a good lens? I was wondering how does it compare with the with the manual 50mm 1.7?

Identical at every aperture I sold mine and kept a
Pentax-A 50mm f/1.7. If I need AF (which is very rare)
I use the 43mm LTD.

I have both F and A (and also M) versions. AS far as I am aware, the optics are identical. So the only practical difference is the F focuses faster, but I focus more quietly.

I bought mine about 20yrs ago, excellent lens, the only draw-back being the focus ring is a little small and under-damped when focusing manually - no more so than other AF lenses though.
