What concerns me as an (almost!) ex-safety pro, is that "lessons are learnt" PDQ, and that this does not happen again before the AAIB enquiry publishes it's report - I hope that event organisers will take the scenario (and anything remotely potentially similar) on board very quickly and deal with it properly before their next events (I intend to go to Dunsfold Wings & Wheels next weekend!)

PS: my wife is "very emotional" about what happened and so, I am sure, are many people - but please do remember that there is always one or more actual casual factors for accidents like these - and so, in the longer run, it is probably better to get to grips with those as opposed to just emotional responses, which most certainly are appropriate when this sort of thing happens (but then, as I said, I am not that much of an "emotional" person - another long story which I won't discuss here) in order to try to ensure it does not happen again.

Sincere condolences to all those affected.

Yes, that's been pretty certain for a few months, although the AAIB and CAA investigations are still on-going because it appears that there were a number of different causal factors involved.

Should anyone want more info on Shoreham or on the new controls and restrictions for 2016, take a look at the following and then the linked information:
http://www.fightercontrol.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=287&t=124927 http://www.pprune.org/military-aviation/566533-hawker-hunter-loss-shoreham-airsh...
(the 2nd one is a long thread, so the latest stuff is on page 47 onwards)

2016 should be "safer" but some of the displays - especially the Cold War era jets - are going to be a lot less "vigorous", and there are likely to be a lot more controls on people near the airfields but not in the official crowd/viewing areas - so expect to have more problems getting in the "naughty fields".
