also should be warned.... about language.
but still says something about the wisdom of jumping brands....
bottom line... "quit blaming your equipment and learn how to take decent photos" is cheaper than "This brand sucks"

I always wash my lenses on a wool cycle with a slow spin! I find the lens's sphincter prefers it.
I've now cancelled my siggie order in favour of a used 12-24 from SRS, so I will shortly be able to answer my own original query.
