Not only a great image, but it made me smile. I like this breed of dog. Inquisitive and mischievous and you've captured it beautifully. Kudos.
Be well, stay safe, but most of all, invest in memories

Worthy winner, congrats Dewsburya. as noted, the variation on the theme is wonderful. And congrats extended to johnwnjr and the HM Nigelk. Thanks for the coveted 2nd spot. My apologies for the late response, but a bout of electricty outages for days one end, has prevented me from responding earlier. And thanks too for a great challenge, the subject always illicits a wonderful array of images, all to evident here.

Winner Dewsburya with Dachshund ignoring the Sunset
Second place goes to Noelcmn with Sunset
Third place to Johnwnjr with Sunrise on the Solway
Highly Commended Nigelk After the Rain
Perspicador – Twilight. A nice starter for the competition with the line of leafless trees creating a contrast with the setting sun. The banks of cloud interspersed with some clear sky is subtly lit by the orange afterglow of the sun. Well exposed and good depth of field.
Vic Cross – Sunset in the Caribbean. A lovely shot giving me a warm glow! The dark hills, band of cumulous, the hint of crepuscular rays and the dwarfed vessels on the sea all serve to create quite a dramatic scene. Well exposed and lovely setting
NigelK – After the Rain A muted but very effective take on the subject. The damp foliage with water drops evident in the foreground works well with the muted sky in the background. A sharp, well composed photograph.
Garethjmorgan – Aukland Harbour the use of portrait format works well with this photograph. The subdued dark water and craft in the foreground add to the atmosphere as our eyes are drawn to the sky. A very nice image
Johnwnjr – Sunrise on the Solway The shot is beautifully framed by the hills to the left and the promontory with silhouetted building to the right. The fiery sunrise adds to the drama as the reds and oranges give way to subtle clouds
Dewsburya – Dachshund ignoring the Sunset – what a lovely variation on the theme. The side lighting of the Dachshund; the dangling legs and the subtle light of the stones all make for a very interesting photograph. The different interpretation is a winner for me
Pipinmels – Turkey. The cranes and vessels provide an interesting contrast with the sun. The height from which the photograph was taken add to the overall scene. Good depth of field and some lovely colours reflecting off the sea
PRYorkshire – Flying into the Sunset. The contrail from the aircraft catches the eye almost immediately and makes one wonder what its destination is. The dark cloud against the fiery sky complement each other well. The silhouetted trees and bushes blend well with the cloud making an interesting composition
Noelcmn – Sunset this certainly has the wow factor with the deep blue sky and the rays of light fanning out from the sun. The eye is drawn to the sun by the dark sky around and the treeline which adds perspective
Retsoor – Watching from the rocks Another nice composition using a ‘panorama’ view, the figures on the rocks add interest to the image with the wide vista providing good depth. Lovely colours and beautifully captured.
Simonmac – Birmingham Sunrise the high angle gives an interesting perspective to the shot. Lovely detail of the buildings which are well defined, good depth of field with some interesting reflections in some of the buildings
Dromfit -Sunrise Surprise Planet! The detail on the sun is certainly interesting providing some good colour. The portrait format certainly gives height to the mage with the line of trees adding perspective to the scene
