Can you feel it, can you feel it, can you feel it?-Courtesy of Mr Michael Jackson. That’s more or less what I was looking for in this challenge. Photography of course is all about the sense of sight, with all the other senses being put in the background. However, some images give you a sense of the textures involved, and sometimes it can be quite palpable, causing you to want to reach. out and feel it with your hand and fingers. That is what I was looking for in this week’s challenge, and I have not been disappointed. Thank you all for your submissions. As usual a broad range of interpretations and compositions. And quality! Here are some of my thoughts.

Tyronet2000- Eternal slumber- cracking opening shot, very well composed, filling the frame, and an added bonus of a somber mood. Beautiful textures to this, and time has had its effects! Can’t help but want to feel all those comparative parts- the rough to the bottom left and more smoother parts to the top! Accurate color representation!

Nigelk-Iron tree -Well, I’m also blown away. Must be a fantastic place to visit with a Camera in hand. Solid composition for the part you’ve selected to present here. And beautiful light with a balance of shadows. Looks all too real, except the nuts and bolts give it away! And who would not want to run their fingers across all those ridges and bumps! What a fine artist! Excellent color rendition!

MHOL190246-Glass Sculpture- I’ve seen a lot of this artists work on the many forums that I belong to, and always intrigued by his work! The Wikipedia article on him is very interesting, an accomplished artist and glass sculpture. Fantastic composition, creating a desire to see what else there is involved in this! And I like the almost selective color and gold is always a winner! For this one, I’m not so sure about wanting to touch- you never know, if they don’t break, you may get nightmares about a visit of Medusa!

Perspicador-Knife Sculpture Detail-Lovely, interesting, and oh so colorful, the latter of course is not what you usually associate with sculptures! A fascinating read on this piece of artwork from Wikipedia! Besides wanting to get my hands to this, I’d also want to do some counting. Super shot!

Johnwnjr—Natural Sculpture-WOW! What a great eye as a photographer! Well then, who needs human creations when you can have this? Fantastic details to this. I have not seen any Ivy looking this monstrous! And don’t I just want to get a grip on some of those tendrils- even if just to test their strength! Lovely composition and colors!

PRYorkshire-Man’s head - This has been on the forum challenges before, and as before I’ll repeat what I said on the previous occasion. “Graphic is the word that comes to mind when I viewed this-an image of power and strength, and I keep thinking of Hulk when viewing this. Excellent composition. That eye looks all too real!”. Another word that comes to mind is Dominance! Palpable textures to this, and I’d be keen to feel some of that green patina that comes with aging copper! Beautiful shot!

Davidtrout-Set in stone- Lovely image, such fine textures to this, and fantastic detail! That eye! Looks all too real, and excellent use of the available light to give that marble-like eye! The cobweb certainly add to this, as does the bits of Bokeh! And intriguing stuff all around his head makes for some mystery. And yeah, I’d want to run my fingers across those curls of hair, not forgetting the facial parts! Color, spot on for sculptures!

Retsoor- Made of clay-Fantastic! The tone of this is just wonderful! As are the fine details. The fill-the-frame as a compositional choice has worked really well. Some would complain about cutting of the top of the head and the chin, but I think as it is presented here makes for a powerful image. And as for running my fingers over this-I’d be starting with the moustache, and the eyes would be on the agenda.

Flan-Bearing a load- ah the effects of oxidization and the elements. I like the mystery of this image, my mind racing to figure out what it is! And I like the contrasting colors, used to good effect! And as with others in this challenge, wonderful details. Solid composition, with elements of minimalism! Great shot!

And onto the Judging exercise, which I must admit has not been easy! I’m pretty others would have come to a different conclusion.
1st Spot to Retsoor- tones, details, composition!
2nd spot to Tyronet2000-some palpable textures!
3rd spot to Nigelk- wonderful use of light!

I am happy to give HM’s to all the others! It’s been a delight to look at all these images! Over to you Retsoor!

Many thanks for the challenge Noel and for your assessments. Well done to Retsoor, Stan and NigelK. Some good entries, pity there weren't a few more of them.
