Weekly #567 - A Piece of Fruit Competition

Competition Details
Closing Date: 27/05/2018
Judge: tyronet2000

I'm looking for an image of a piece of fruit. This can be any piece of fruit and how it is displayed is up to the photographer, but the emphasis should only be on one piece.

Thanks to those who entered and although only a small entry still not an easy task to choose the winner. As usual these are only my opinions.

Windfall Apple by Perspicador, I did like this and wish the foreground had been sharper.

Ripe for Picking by JAK. The fruit certainly did look ready for picking.

Frozen Strawberries by JudithAnn. You have isolated the center fruit but not sure of the lighting on the back edge, it looks to have burnt it out.

Bananana by Aitch53. You have certainly captured the detail in this except for on the left of the fruit, towards the bottom.

Fun with lemons by noelcmn. You have the fruit element but the upper piece looks read to slip off the top.

Fruiting Body by johnriley. A sharp image of one of nature's great recyclers but to me says vegetable rather than fruit.

Winner Ripe for Picking by JAK

Very Well Done the other entries

Stan

What a pity there are so few entries in what I thought was an interesting and intriguing challenge, and was looking forward to the variety of challenges. Still, as Stan hinted, enough here to engage the senses. Well done JAK< and congrats on your win, delectable piece, which I'm resisting trying to pick it off the screen . Beautiful red with strong pop and wonderful details too! Thanks Stan, for the challenge and comments and critiques, always appreciated. The Lemon was very finely balanced and I utilised the natural resistance of the pith to the max

Thanks Stan and well done to all who entered. Where did everyone else go this week? I wouldn't have thought it was a difficult subject, but maybe not to take something specially as it's still a bit early in the year in the UK other than getting something from the local shops. I find my raspberries and blackcurrants keep me going through the year!

So its time to get the thinking cap on for a subject for this week.
