Water study

Solemn and spooky; mysterious and challenging; powerful but full of grace. In all, an image worthy of a POTW award. Congratulations Nigel!

Highland Glen

A very rich landscape photograph, full of detail. There is a lot to enjoy in this picture. Just two little questions, which glen, and which A series lens?Thank you for your kind comments... in answer to you questions, it was Glen Affric and using my "Good Lady" Pentax-A 20mm F2.8 :)

Why?

To Drofmit: no tilt lens. 300mm lens, shot from a distance. I frequently have to make use of rotate, vertical, etc controls, however, to straighten out distortions. Often cannot get everything squared away, but that's OK.

Attack tools

Love this.... totally different.... I am a lover of insects, especially dragonflies and damselflies.... when I saw the thumbnail, my first thought was "I wonder what species it is?" Imagine my surprise when the full sized one revealed this!!Thanks I appreciated your comment but is not easy that people like if "totally different". But is my view.

Go With the Flow

Bit of a splash

It's a water sprite! And another "canvas"!!

By drofmit @ 25/01/2021 - 07:14

Why?

Are you using a tilt lens for this? My reason for asking is that.... unless the windows are much smaller than it appears.... all your lines absolutely spot-on square! Really like this one.... it would look good printed on canvas and hung!

Ancient & Modern

My view is that the "jarring" bokeh is actually what makes this .... without that pull to an object in the background the whole meaning of "Ancient & Modern" is lost.... it isn't unpleasant to my eye and highlights the "Modern" dslr, which would otherwise become fairly "lost".

Nigel.... just seen this and I have to agree with Paul... I could happily live with this on my wall. [I haven't seen the others... so I'll go and look] We have a very successful "mosaicist/ceramacist" in the next village and her work is very similar in the result you have acheived here.... albeit by totally different routes. This is full of movement, whereas hers are very static. What d...
