Hi all ,

My pentax k100d is almost 5 years old but it is one amazing DSLR that works perfectly till now. Last week my battery door got broken and when I approached the repair man he told me that he has to send it to France. And that it would cost more than £100 for replacing the door and £20 extra for just seeing the camera. The reason being my camera's resale value itself will be £150 or less than that how can I spend so much for the battery door? Please someone suggest me a cheaper solution for this problem.Any help much appreciated ! Thank You

If it is just a matter of something to hold the battery door shut then the base piece of a cheap flash bracket would hold it in place. Or if you are handy with metal then a strip of steel drilled and bolted to the tripod socket would do it.

Gaffer tape ! . (can you post a photo of the damage) smudge seems to have come up with the best idea... Is the door still hinging on the camera ?....Jeff...
